First Kiss Friday – An Excerpt from “For Women Only” by Kayelle Allen

Today on First Kiss Friday, we welcome romance author, Kayelle Allen, and an excerpt from her SciFi Romance novel, “For Women Only.”

For Women Only is a quick-reading scifi romance with edge. He's a broken hero who hungers for revenge. She's a warrior who thirsts for justice. The love neither expected holds them captive in the middle.

Fawni's people destroyed Khyff's family. To protect his only brother he accepts a mission that will remove her from power. After meeting the female warrior and discovering her noble heart, he begins to doubt his cause, his past and even his own memories.

Khyff's secret truth could devastate her family and make her an outcast. She should shun this human, return to her own people and forget him. Yet how can she let him suffer in the darkness that binds his heart?

His secret truth is her people's darkest lie.

The Kin people are catlike and females are in power. They are highly sensitive to smell and the change of emotions creates a scent they recognize and interpret. The saying goes, "No one lies to a Kin." When Fawni is sent to the capitol city of the Tarthian Empire to serve as ambassador, she meets Khyff, a human. In this scene, she has picked him up at a party and is now in his room at the hotel. She has a bit to learn about "seducing" human males, but Khyff is just the man to show her.

Mehfawni explored the living room while Khyff locked the door to his penthouse suite. The high ceiling and glass wall showed Tarth City in all its vast sparkles of color against the blackness. Modern furniture decorated the spacious room. Through double doors, a huge bed waited, the covers already turned down. Handy.

"May I offer you a drink?"

She turned back to him. Stars, he's magnificent. All smooth skin and hard planes. What does a male's body feel like without furskin? Man. A man's body.

"No, thanks. I want you out of your clothes first."

Khyff shrugged off his jacket. "Don't you want to get to know me?"

"I'll get to know you later." She started on the buttons of his shirt. "Right now, I want to use you."

His eyes widened.

"Don't human women tell you what they want?"

"No." He dropped his hands to his sides and let her pull open his shirt.

"They're wasting time, then." Mehfawni untucked his shirt and unfastened the top of his trousers. "I do love an obedient male."

"I should be harder to get than this." He was watching her hands.

She pushed the shirt off his shoulders. His eyes were the clear, bright blue of deep water. "Harder to get? Ah fay?"

He frowned. "I'm sorry; what was that?"

"Ah fay. It translates, 'this means what?'"

"You mean, what does 'harder to get' mean? That I shouldn't be so eager. I should make you seduce me."

"I am seducing you." Mehfawni untucked his undershirt. "Take this off."

He reached back to the neck and pulled it over his head, then tossed it aside. He stood before her, bare from the waist up.

She purred. "This is what a male's body should look like. You were made to give pleasure."

A spark of vinegar flashed into the air. Had her words shamed him? Before she could decide, the emotion-scent dissipated.

Khyff's ridged abdomen felt as hard as it looked. She stroked her fingers through the hair on his chest. "You're so soft. Not like Kin at all." She felt the warmth of his skin against her palms as she slid them out across his arms. "And smooth. I've never felt anything like you."

She took his hand and led him toward the bedroom. Time to find out what other pleasures he had to offer.

He pulled at her hand. "Don't I even get a kiss?"

His words stopped her and she turned toward him. "Are you not ready for sex?"

Amusement lit his eyes. "Oh, I'm ready. But I'd still like to get a kiss first. You don't even know my last name."

"What is it?"

"Antonello."

"Good. Now come to bed, and I'll give you as many kisses as you want."

"How about one now?"

She sighed. "I can see human males are not at all like Kin. Once a Kin male is ready, there's no reasoning with him. Human males apparently have to think about sex before you have it."

"Far from it. We're usually slapped down for going too fast."

Mehfawni tilted her head. "Then your females must be torpid."

"Torpid?"

"Sluggish. Slow. Not awake."

"Hardly."

"Why else would a female be in the same room with you and not want her hands all over you, Khyff?"

He regarded her a long moment, studying her in some way she couldn't comprehend, before he gave her a wicked smile. "Is that how you feel? That you want your hands all over me?"

"Do humans need to be told that?"

Again, the slow appraisal. "You don't have to tell me twice."

He scooped her up in his arms and carried her into the bedroom, kicking the door shut behind them.

Mehfawni woke with a start, unsure what had alerted her. The soft hiss of air entering the room came to her, and she relaxed. The coolness of the room made her pull up the blankets. A pleasant exhaustion made her smile. When had a lover ever taken her to such heights of passion? When had he done it so many times in a row?

Moonlight gave the room a soft glow, peeking in through the curtains to illuminate the bed. Khyff was lying on his side, seemingly asleep. He tossed his head and whimpered as if caught in a nightmare.

Mehfawni touched his arm. "Khyff?"

His eyes opened. They glimmered with tears.

"Khyff?" She cuddled closer. "What is it? Were you having a bad dream?"

"No. No, I'm fine." His voice was hushed. The tears were gone, as if she'd imagined them. He stretched, arms over his head. "I'm good. Ready to go again if you want."

"I think you should rest a little. You must be tired." She brushed back his hair, and drew her fingertips down his face.

The glimmer of tears showed again, but he smiled, and blinked them away.

"What is it, Khyff? What are you thinking?"

"That it's been a long time since anyone was gentle with me." He slid his hands up her hips and around her waist. Khyff kissed her, crushing her body against his.
